A expressão acima é, na língua inglesa, equivalente a "estar na pele de alguém". Geralmente, ela é usada em frases no condicional conforme podemos observar nos exemplos abaixo. A expressão "IN YOUR SKIN" não transmite o mesmo conceito.

  • What would you do if you were in his shoes?
  • O que você faria se estivesse na pele dele?
  • If I were in your shoes I'd get in touch with the tannery and ask them whether they carry that kind of hide.
  • Se estivesse na sua pele, eu entraria em contato com o curtume e perguntaria se eles vendem aquele tipo de couro.
