CAVALO

:: PUZZLE

Farah Felline was out of town on business, and needed a room for a week. When she went to pay the clerk she realized her credit card was missing. Her bank said it would be one week before they could deliver a new card. Farah turned to the desk clerk and said, "I have a solid gold chain with seven links. Each link is worth well over $100. I'll give you the chain as collateral until my card is replaced. Just to be on the safe side, I'll give one link each day for seven days." Farah realized that she could trade links back and forth and avoid a lot of unnecessary cuts to the chain. What is the fewest number of cuts she would have to make and how would she trade the links back and forth?

TWO FRIENDS

Two old friends meet passing on the street one day. But one looked forlorn, and almost on the verge of tears. His friend asked, "What had the world done to you, my old friend?" The sad fellow said, "Let me tell you. Three weeks ago, an uncle died and left me forty thousand dollars." "That's not bad." "But you see, two weeks ago, a cousin I never even knew kicked the bucket, and left me eighty five thousand free and clear." "Sounds like you should be grateful..." "You don't understand!" he interrupted. "Last week my great aunt passed away. I inherited almost a quarter of a million." Now he was really confused. "Then, how come you look so glum?" "This week... nothing!"

:: DICA DO MICHAEL (Tirando Dúvidas de Inglês)

Um colega de trabalho me perguntou se a seguinte frase está correta: When the system will be in production, the X process will not be necessary anymore.

Ele deveria ter dito: When the system is in production, the X process won't be necessary anymore (Quando o sistema estiver em produção, o processo X não será mais necessário).
