English just for LawyersLegal English doesn’t have to be a mystery, and this is the purpose of English just for Lawyers, a practical and concise workbook designed for upper-intermediate to advanced students of English interested in learning and/or brushing up on essential legal terminology.

Nine areas of law are addressed within the twelve chapters of the book, and special emphasis is justifiably given to Corporate Law, an area which has made English proficiency a requirement for many professionals in this field. Eight chapters deal with Litigation, Contracts, Labour, Real Estate, Bankruptcy, Family, Environmental and Tax Law. The other three chapters deal with three interesting and relevant topics: Legalese, introducing the book, Financial Transactions, and Legal Costs, rarely dealt with in similar books.

While a self-study practice book, providing a wide range of exercises (with key), English just for Lawyers can also be used in the classroom or in one-to-one environments – as supplementary material – and should therefore be useful for teachers and students alike.
